Let's first get to know each other. My name is Amanda and I'm a Nike-a-holic. I live with my husband Jason (who is a bigger Nike-a-holic than I am) and our 3 Boston Terriers. About three and a half years ago I topped the scales at 234 pounds and was wearing a size 16W pair of jeans. With my 30th birthday looming, I had to do something so get in shape. I started with clean eating and weight lifting in the gym. After losing 40 or so pounds a friend suggested that we take up running. I "ran" on the elliptical for a few months. My first road 5k almost killed me. I was already signed up for a half marathon training program so there was so turning back, I'd have to put my big girl Nikes on and tough it out. 3 years later I've completed 27 half marathons, 5 marathons, and countless shorter distance races. Running was not easy, but now that I've stuck it out running has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.

the "after" or "in progress" picture - is a great Nike tank and capris!
I'd wager a bet that 99.9% of the time I've run or hit the gym, something Nike has been on my body. Most of the time it's safe to say that if I'm working out I'm in 100% Nike. I joke that they cut for my body (really their capris fit me better than any other brand. A little piece of my soul died the day I went to get refitted for running shoes (something everyone should do) at our local running store, and was told Nike didn't have any option of shoes that were right for me (I mourned the loss by buying a Nike visor.) I ran in "Not Nikes" for about a year when lo and behold at my annual shoe fitting I was back in my Nike Structures! Praise be to the running gods, all was right in my world again.
I might have just a few pairs of Nike Structures.
Sadly, 2 pairs have been retired because they maxed out on miles!
My running and gym wardrobe started modestly with only a few pairs of capris, and maybe like 6 tops. I don't even want to mention what I've accrued in the past 3 years - but it's a lot. Here's a glimpse at the Nike tops section of my closet.
People often comment on my "sweet Nike" outfits, so I thought, maybe I should start a blog chronicling my almost daily Nike apparel. That way I could share the love for Nike fashion, and my love for running with more than just those who pass me on the road!
Here's a look at today:
