Jason is freezing me out, so Piper and I are cozy in the Nike DC Women's Half Hoodie. It's my favorite!

Easy Thursday Run
Today was an easy run since I'm "on break" until Tuesday! I just got these new Nike Pro shorts and I love them! Rounded out the outfit with my structures, a hot pink Nike Pro sports Bra under a sheer black Nike tank
Weights Wednesday
I woke up and went to the gym for a weight lifting circuit. Wore these super cute and comfortable Nike flyknit frees. I'm also a sucker for a witty running shirt - so "Your pace or mine?" Let's be honest its gotta be mine - you're probably faster than me!

Sunday Run Day

For our Sunday run I threw on a super cute polka dotted Nike Pro sports bra, a yellow tailwind tank, and a pair of structures. After the run I tossed on the Nike DC Women's Half Marathon finisher jacket to keep warm while Amy and I sipped our coffee. Later I went to breakfast with my old man and wore some cute new Nike Flips that I found for a steal yesterday at Ross!

Saturday run
Well it's the heat of summer already here in Florida. Today I did 8 miles in this cute Nike running dress with Nike Pro compression shorts (with a nice long inseam) and my Nike structures.

Footwear Friday!
Today I'm keeping it comfortable in these Nike flip flops! I also have them in a pretty blue! Pay no attention to the unpolished toes - I'm getting a pedi with the running girls tomorrow!

TBT part deux
I decided to not be lazy, since I skipped my morning run I'm headed to the gym. I reached deep in the closet for this shirt. Rounded the outfit out with blank Nike capris, pink Nike socks and my black, pink, and Tiffany blue Nike structures.
Throw Back Thursday
Since the only Nike I'm wearing today is my Nike DC Women's Half Marathon finisher necklace here is a throw back Thursday shot.

Welcome
Welcome to my "A Nike a Day" blog.
Let's first get to know each other. My name is Amanda and I'm a Nike-a-holic. I live with my husband Jason (who is a bigger Nike-a-holic than I am) and our 3 Boston Terriers. About three and a half years ago I topped the scales at 234 pounds and was wearing a size 16W pair of jeans. With my 30th birthday looming, I had to do something so get in shape. I started with clean eating and weight lifting in the gym. After losing 40 or so pounds a friend suggested that we take up running. I "ran" on the elliptical for a few months. My first road 5k almost killed me. I was already signed up for a half marathon training program so there was so turning back, I'd have to put my big girl Nikes on and tough it out. 3 years later I've completed 27 half marathons, 5 marathons, and countless shorter distance races. Running was not easy, but now that I've stuck it out running has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.
I'd wager a bet that 99.9% of the time I've run or hit the gym, something Nike has been on my body. Most of the time it's safe to say that if I'm working out I'm in 100% Nike. I joke that they cut for my body (really their capris fit me better than any other brand. A little piece of my soul died the day I went to get refitted for running shoes (something everyone should do) at our local running store, and was told Nike didn't have any option of shoes that were right for me (I mourned the loss by buying a Nike visor.) I ran in "Not Nikes" for about a year when lo and behold at my annual shoe fitting I was back in my Nike Structures! Praise be to the running gods, all was right in my world again.
My running and gym wardrobe started modestly with only a few pairs of capris, and maybe like 6 tops. I don't even want to mention what I've accrued in the past 3 years - but it's a lot. Here's a glimpse at the Nike tops section of my closet.
People often comment on my "sweet Nike" outfits, so I thought, maybe I should start a blog chronicling my almost daily Nike apparel. That way I could share the love for Nike fashion, and my love for running with more than just those who pass me on the road!

January 2011, roughly 210 pounds and February 2013 near my original goal weight of 150 pounds
the "after" or "in progress" picture - is a great Nike tank and capris!

I might have just a few pairs of Nike Structures.
Sadly, 2 pairs have been retired because they maxed out on miles!
